We had two massage parlors in Richmond several years ago.  We did surveillance and stopped “customers” leaving.  In the interview we would ask what happened and then use that information to apply for search warrants.  One of the effort was in combination with ICE-did not go well.  We had to wait for them to coordinate with other agencies. We also did a trash pull and found used condoms.
  • The training has been improving the last several years; I really enjoyed the presentation of the content, the humor, and the instructor selection. • yes because it’s my last one to do before I retire!!!!
  • You guys asking alot of questions that don’t usually get ask and getting the real information in a response
Q2: Any suggestions for future training?

  • A good topic is handling those who want to film public services
  • A little more time/money spend on the production value and training platform
  • Active shooter; proper equipment to have for off-duty carry/EDC
  • ADD SOME MORE DEMONSTRATIONS IN OTHER SECTIONS LIKE WERE INCLUDED IN THE SUIDS SECTIONS. IT MIGHT BE HELPFUL TO SEE ROLE PLAY SITUATIONS AS WELL.
  • Adolescent Mental Health (for the SRO’s)
  • All the youtube movies were a bit much. Can you condense it to one video instead of multiples.
  • Are there videos of counselors working with autistic individuals who show how to use different de-escalation techniques?
  • Audio still needs to be better, it is hard to hear from a laptop inside of a patrol car. Maybe consider more of a podcast setup with microphones.
  • Be a web cast or two on hot topics in law enforcement.
  • Best one yet
  • Better acoustics.
  • Better mental health/addiction recovery person
  • Better Mics
  • Blood borne pathogen folks (nurses) could step it up a notch
  • Body cam footage, or video of interactions with children with autism (the right way to do it) and what it looks like.
  • Branch out to other training areas, de escalation, officer wellness, etc
  • BWC footage was outstanding.
  • Can the course be streamlined so the last parts of each section don’t repeat? “Complete and Continue” takes you back to the last part of the section.
  • Cartoons
  • Cathy Clark for SANE Nurse
  • CLOSED CAPTIONS
  • Consider using different subject-matter experts to allow for different points of view, experiences, knowledge, etc.
  • Content and visual aid as to what to look for with Explosive Labs and the similarities/differences they can have to Meth Labs. Important in this new climate.
  • Content was clunky on my phone, but my phone is a 7th gen (lol). Could that be better?
  • Continue to bring in those from the community with real life experience; their advice helps.
  • Continue to bring in updated information from professionals in their setting.
  • Continue to integrate new things such as the search warrant video with the human trafficking. Thanks for making mandates better.
  • continue to make it more interactive
  • continue using different speakers from different agencies
  • Cut out the joking
  • Cut the unnecessary story telling and small talk out
  • Discussion on teen brain
  • Do more, say less
  • drug and gun interdiction
  • Explain the process more regarding consular notifications
  • gear more towards your audience
  • Get to the point.
  • Hands on Autism in Indianapolis is a newer program geared toward an in-depth analysis of autistic individuals and getting the best treatment. They may be a resource to contact and have on future videos. I know I’ve spoken with my therapist who brought it up as something to use as a LEO resource in directing families.
  • I found the human trafficking block to be interesting but subtitling would be helpful.
  • I know time is crucial in these things but, I truly believe that mental health is a HUGE problem in our world. I feel that it has so many ties with drug use and the violence we see today.  Speaking for myself, I would like to see more on mental illness and things that we can do to help with it.  Thant being said, I think the video was very informative and the guest speaker did a great job.  By providing the actual hours required to be certified compared to the hours we receive, she really helped highlight the fact that the training that we actually receive is nowhere near enough.
  • I need more cowbell
  • I never win anything – so I just want this comment…i its entirety, to be a lucky winner in being read next year.
  • I think some of the training came be streamlined.
  • I think that some additional information about PTSD and Addiction Issues for law enforcement would help everyone.
  • I think the format was great and the different views from different speakers (law enforcement or not) was awesome.
  • I think this is the best approach to state mandates
  • I would enjoy if it were a podcast
  • I would like to see more on drug interdictions.
  • I’d like to see speakers use more anecdotal evidence or sources to back their claims. I’m sure the speakers were well informed on their topics, but when speaking vaguely about a claim, it can make it difficult to trust the accuracy of what was said.
  • IF MORE PEOPLE ARE WILLING, INCLUDE MORE BODY CAM FOOTAGE OF REAL LIFE SCERARIOS PERTAINING TO SOME OF THE TOPICS DISCUSSED.
  • If possible interview individuals on different levels on the spectrum.
  • If possible, more webinars on top of the mandates throughout the year
  • If time allows maybe role playing scenarios, or even more body cam footage that can be used for training purposes.
  • In person please!
  • It was great to mix it up with the body cam footage, like you did with the human trafficking section.
  • It’s hard to “spice up” virtual training… it stinks even when it’s done well. This was much better than last year.
  • jokes arent always needed
  • Keep changing up the speakers
  • keep doing what you’re doing. Beats listening to a monotone instructor who doesn’t want to be instructing for the training
  • Keep doing what your doing and use the constructive feedback to continue providing value
  • Keep it fun and light hearted like you are doing.
  • Keep up the diversity – better to have different instructors/speakers and videos from year to year to avoid burnout.
  • KEEP UP THE GUEST SPEAKERS. LOVE THEM. ALSO THE BODY CAM STUFF WAS NICE.
  • Less banter between Police and Fire its difficult enough being Police and dealing with the decision to stay in the profession or not. The mental health portion should not be a joke and should teach how to navigate the career take some tips from Street Cop Trainer Rookie to Retirement.
  • Less banter with instructors.
  • less joking around.
  • Less rambling on about nothing that has to do with actual law enforcement training
  • let someone else do the training in person
  • Lets complete the training every three years.
  • Like to see human trafficking focused on restaurants or nail salons. Massage parlors seem to be thing of the past.
  • Looks like you shut down the massage parlor, so no
  • Make portions more interactive by finding BWC clips of some of the topics and intertwining them in the interviews.
  • Make sure the acoustics and microphones are picking up, I had volume on my laptop at 100% and still had trouble hearing the 1st speaker when there was other noise in my room
  • Make the survey optional
  • Mandates are tough, yet you guys do a good job of keeping it entertaining.
  • Maybe finding an investigation/case study that combines most if not all of these mandatory topics.
  • Maybe not have 3 women on a panel trying to speak over each other, super funny to watch though lol
  • Maybe some self rescue
  • Mental health – not addictions related
  • More actual live videos and scenarios
  • More BJ and Soo
  • More BJ shirtless……less Soo
  • More Bj speaking Chinese
  • More bloopers. Makes training go by faster, (Maybe not).
  • More body cam footage. That is much easier to pay attention to than you interviewing people in chairs.
  • MORE BODYCAM FOOTAGE TO AT LEAST INTRODUCE TOPICS. ALWAYS INTERESTING TO SEE REAL POINT OF VIEW.
  • More domestic training
  • More energetic speakers.
  • More examples and videos
  • More from the coroners of the state. Always great nuggets there
  • More human traffic info, especially Mexicans.
  • More of the same… it’s mandates.
  • More on Human Trafficking
  • More on Immediate Detention
  • more on the job videos/ BWD and photos
  • MORE OUTAKES HEHE

  • More resources such as: More Miranda Warnings in different languages, SFST cards, and IN implied consent in Spanish, Chinese, etc.
  • More training on de-escalation.
  • More verbal tactics
  • More videos including first responders and their experiences.
  • more videos of real events

  • None, this was pretty much perfect. Excellent format.
  • nope, brain dead at this point
  • Nope, just the right amount of dullness for the topics. I am curious though how Alicia knew what squirrel dick smelt like:)
  • Nope, you all are doing an excellent job at presenting what can be hard material
  • You are doing a pretty good job.
  • You guys made it as enjoyable as state mandates can be
  • Not really (difficult to present stuff like this virtually so I understand setbacks).
  • Only that my brother is the twinzie you spoke about in the end of the training. He and I are working together in the same county now and I would also like a shout out because my sensitive ego would enjoy the attention.
  • Outstanding training once again
  • Perhaps more combination of HAZMAT with explosives in regards to readily available chemicals and solvents that can be used for explosive and arson purposes.
  • Possibly adding a random topic to throw in, changing it each year.
  • Possibly break videos up so you can watch part of them and quit and restart from where you left off instead of the beginning of the lesson.
  • Possibly more to do with mental health issues as that is a growing concern with the people we encounter
  • Possibly some bodycam footage of the different topics for a “real life” example if you will.
  • Real life applications like the human trafficking video were great.
  • real life examples, videos of more complicated investigation to help us in the field.
  • School related/Juvenile training
  • Set the camera angles so you and the presenters are on screen, late night talk show interview format.
  • Shorten some of the segments 7 hrs is a little long while working
  • Shorten up the video of the human trafficking investigation. The video was helpful to see the steps in the investigation, but I don’t understand Chinese.  It was too just too long.
  • Some of the audio volume was different throughout various modules. A minor issue but some volume for certain individuals was more difficult to hear.
  • Some of the videos were very quiet. Being able to save where you are in the training and come back to it would be helpful.
  • Some room noise adjustments. Some video acoustics were difficult to understand.
  • Some speakers hard to hear.
  • sometimes hard to hear speaker from behind the camera
  • sometimes there could be better audio
  • Special guest Blippi. Also, teaching those about proper ways of handling 1st Amendment Auditors.
  • State mandate training is always difficult to present. I think your company is doing a great job in it’s current format.
  • stop mandating this course
  • Stop with the survey
  • Subject matter experts are a great tool as they can provide information that is applicable in the field. As long as they don’t get crazy with their in depth knowledge that usually contains words that make me sleepy. More real world (body cam) interactions may be useful in keeping attention.
  • The body cam of the massage parlor investigation was brutal. It was very hard to watch.  The rest of the training was pretty good.
  • The human trafficking section only really focused on the one warrant. I feel there could be better information in that section.
  • The human trafficking was a little long and could have been edited down for other content. The BC videos are great but at times can be boring.
  • The humor was awesome, kept me watching. I just did not feel it was appropriate when Derryl Graham was interviewed.
  • The interviews with individuals that were addicts/ trafficking victims were helpful and brought a different perspective. Keep that up!
  • The two woman during the dementia, endangered adults training kept talking over each other. Hard to follow.
  • To go along with the explosive section, train derailments that could be hazardous.
  • Trim some of the fluff
  • Try not to make the talking so dry.
  • Try to make all videos into one because the user interface was difficult
  • Unknown feasible, but would like to see more discussion with victims such as domestic violence in their stance and how law enforcement can better help them in bad situation‘s.
  • VA hospital protocols when treating veterans with PTSD/mental health
  • Video volume could be louder (running car and tiny laptop speakers). Would love to hear more about labor trafficking, went into a house with separate very sparse living quarters… just wondering what more we could be doing in that realm. I will follow up with the resources listed of course.
  • What ever the State / Fed mandates says we have to have training in.
  • Who am I to suggest anything BJ…Lol
  • Yes, sound deaden the room before recording. In one section of the training the audio was echoing so much it was difficult to tolerate.
  • You might try using suspenseful music to set the mood. Well, suspenseful or pop-punk.
